Last Sunday we began a new series called Core Values: Defining who we are and what we are most passionate about. Over the next 4 weeks and then 4 weeks at the beginning of the year we will lay out those things we see in Scripture as critical for our church. These will be the values we are seeking to build with and around. We began with the value of the Glory of God Above all Things. You can listen to that sermon here and can track all of the sermons in this series on our website. We are looking forward to engaging these foundational teachings together so that we can grow together in bringing glory to God as a church.
In this first sermon we discussed our passion for the glory of God above all things. By affirming this value, we are aligning ourselves as a church with the reality that the glory of God according to Scripture is our highest purpose, goal and aim. Because: The glory of God is what God is most passionate about, the glory of God is what the universe was created for, the glory of God is what we were made for, the glory of God is what we were saved for, and the glory of God is what we are to live for. We glorify God when we are satisfied in Him, we glorify God when we align ourselves and our lives with who God is and what God desires for us, we glorify God when we make much of the salvation He has provided for us in Jesus.
As a church we exist for the glory of God. All things exist for the glory of God. And we pray that all we do will resound to His glory as He works in us and through us as a church.
