Discussion Questions for Romans 12:9-13

August 5, 2020

On Sunday we looked at Paul’s expectation that those who have been bought with the precious blood of Christ will begin to “live into” their new identity in Christ. The statements we read in Romans 12:9-13 both describe a Christ-like life and serve as commands for us to follow. Additionally, each statement in this passage invites us to resolutions and rejections in our life. For example, consider the statement, “Let love be genuine.” I can resolve to relate sincerely because of God’s love for me. At the same time I can reject hypocrisy in all my relating. This is just one of the characteristics that God is working in us to make us more like Christ.
