On Sunday we looked at the truth of Romans 8, as displayed in the life of Naomi in the Book of Ruth. We saw that when God disrupts, he has not stopped loving us but is always and only working for our good. This is true even when the circumstances God leads us through are bitter and painful. Along with Naomi, we are called to trust the God who leads us through bitter circumstances because he has already prepared blessing for us.
Read Romans 8:28-37 and Ruth 1:1-5, 19-21
What elements of Naomi’s pain can you identify with?
How do you wrestle with the tension between what we read in Romans 8 and what we read in Ruth 1?
What bitter realities are you facing right now?
How are you looking to the Lord in the midst of these realities?
Pray for each other to be strengthened with persevering grace.
