Discussion Questions for the Week of December 8

December 10, 2019

On Sunday, we began to focus on the coming of Christ, also known as the incarnation. According to the prophecy of Genesis 3:15, we see that the coming of Christ means the defeat of our adversary by the victorious Son. We considered the character and work of our adversary as well as the eager anticipation of the Son. This allowed us to consider the nature of the Son’s victory over our adversary. This is good news which, according to the Christmas carol God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, reminds us to “remember Christ our Savior was born upon this day to save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray.”

What stands out to you while considering the Son’s defeat of our adversary at Christmas?

Read 1 Peter 5:8. What does it mean to you that we have an adversary to our faith in Christ?

Read Romans 16:20. How does this add hope to your faith in Christ?

Pray for each other that the Lord will continue his victorious work in your lives.
